The story behind TruBeauté
In 2022, when I came out as a non-binary trans-femme person, learning how to navigate beauty felt overwhelming. The tutorials weren't made for me, the products didn't always make sense, and I spent a lot of time and money trying to figure it out on my own.
Working at Ulta gave me access to beauty experts and the space to experiment, but the real shift came through drag. As a drag queen, I had a drag mom who took me shopping, helped me experiment, and gave me the confidence to figure out what worked for me.
Not everyone has that. Outside of beauty, I've worked across Google and Meta in Trust & Safety and AI alignment — building systems that are safe, reliable, and effective at scale. TruBeauté is built at the intersection of those experiences.
